Duplex with fabulous terrasse, patio & piano in Ecusson historical center

As other reviews stated, the apt was clearly quite nice in its day but that day is passed. We encountered numerous problem during our time there: lack of internet for 3 out of 4 months (and yet we were charged for all 4 months; we tried to resolve this w/ Gab but recieved no response), a barely functioning heating system well past its last leg, leaky kitchen sink, filth throughout, and unusable/dirty linens and furnishings. The lower part of the apartment and main bedroom were so dusty that we were forced to sleep upstairs despite buying an air filter and paying for cleanings. It's a 200 sq meter apartment w/ approximately 40 sq meters of usable space. In the end the apartment is probably better suited to students.

We had a wonderful stay in April-May-June 2019. The 18th century building is in an amazing location, with one door leading to Peyrou and another to the historic center. The tram is a few steps away.

The apartment was clearly quite posh in its day, with high ceilings, tall windows, parquet floors, chandeliers, etc. The grandeur has faded (it's a little rough around the edges), but it is still a special place. The terrace is the most striking feature; you feel like you're sitting on the ramparts of the city. We spent many evenings there with an apéritif watching the sunset.

We slept downstairs, which was cooler than upstairs. The kitchen and bathrooms are basic but adequate. Gabrielle lives in Paris but was always available by phone or text.
