Our home is a rare find in New York City: a truly spacious loft with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, in-unit laundry, and room to spread out, ideal for an academic family or a small group on an extended stay. The primary suite is large and private, with an en-suite bathroom and a spacious desk area perfect for focused work. The second bedroom features lofted twin beds with built-in desks (and cozy bean bag hangout spaces underneath) making it a delight for kids. The third bedroom has a trundle twin bed that expands to sleep two, plus its own dedicated desk. With two well-equipped work areas, two adults can easily work from home at the same time. Each of the three bedrooms gets great natural light. Both bathrooms are well-appointed with walk-in showers. The primary bathroom is a particular highlight: it has a double sink and a deep soaking tub with jacuzzi jets — a genuine luxury after a long day of work or exploring the city. The heart of the apartment is its wide-open living and kitchen space. The living areas are cool and shaded year-round, a welcome retreat in summer; while the kitchen is generously sized, with top-of-the-line appliances, a dedicated beverage fridge, and plenty of room to cook and gather. The living room is set up with a projector and screen — perfect for movie nights in. Music lovers will appreciate the Korg digital piano, a rare find in a rental apartment. And in a city where this almost never happens: there is a full laundry room inside the apartment. The loft is on the third floor (walk-up). We're in Greenwood Heights (also known as South Park Slope), one of Brooklyn's most welcoming and walkable neighborhoods. Within two blocks you'll find Freddy's and Sea Witch (bars with live music), Roots Café & Yardsale (coffee and food), Unoriginal Noodles (wonderful ramen), Folk (new cocktail bar with food), and Giuseppina's (pizza). A great children's playground is half a block away. Historic Green-Wood Cemetery — a surprisingly beautiful place for a stroll — is just a few blocks away, and Prospect Park is a 15-minute walk: perfect for picnics, sledding, or an afternoon under the trees. Getting around is easy. The R train at Prospect Ave is a block and a half away: three stops to Atlantic Terminal, where you can connect to most other lines (as well as Long Island Railroad, LIRR), and one stop from there to Manhattan. The F train is a 10-minute walk at 4th & 9th. A Citi Bike dock is just 3 blocks away, and a bike lane runs up 5th Ave., just steps from our door. You can be in Manhattan in about 30 minutes.
