Whole Apartment furnished 4 BRs, 1 BA - Cultural District, MIT/Harvard

We were lucky enough to spend 7 weeks in Dan and Kat’s beautiful rental this summer. We could not recommend their accommodations more highly! They are terrific hosts. Their space is immaculate, comfortable, and in an ideal location. The space The apartment is spotlessly clean. There are many thoughtful touches throughout the apartment, including a great kitchen, comfortable furniture, and plenty of linens. As I said, we stayed there for 7 weeks so we cooked many meals in the apartment. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils, dishes, as well as some “extras” like coffee, olive oil, salt, and more. The washer and dryer are new and a breeze to use. I loved the color scheme and just the way the hosts put the space together. You might not think design and décor matter to you (I didn’t!) but after spending the summer in this apartment, I realized it makes the experience so much calmer and more enjoyable. Location The location is ideal for accessing restaurants, stores, playgrounds, and major Cambridge landmarks. Shopping and restaurants – you are a 5-7 minute walk from Central Square with an H-mart, Target, dozens of restaurants, and the T to take you to Boston. We enjoyed the ease of being able to get into Boston on several occasions. There is a Whole Foods a short walk away. There are also a number of restaurants (Asian, Greek fast causal, tacos, Bertuccis) deven closer (3 minutes?) on Main Street. Kids – We could walk in under 8 minutes to five different playgrounds with my 4-year-old. Three playgrounds were actually visible from the apartment! Cambridge is a phenomenal place for kids overall, but I can’t imagine a better location from a playground point of view. You are a 30 minute walk or 10-minute drive away from a public city swimming pool on Memorial Drive. Harvard – My husband was taking class at Harvard, and the location was perfect. He was able to walk every day to class (about a mile to his building, just under 30 minutes). The Hosts Dan and Kat were extremely responsive via texts, emails, calls leading up to our visit and during our stay. They are friendly but not obtrusive--the perfect balance of helpfulness and letting you have your privacy. Their home is located just behind the rental, which gives you a nice sense of security. And they can give you advice about the neighborhood, restaurants, parks, etc. We did not have any issues arise during our stay, and I would not anticipate having any, but they are very responsive if you need them or have questions. You will not regret staying with them.

My family of six stayed in Dan and Kate's apt for two months. The hosts are very nice and available. For example, knowing we were arriving from Europe late at night and with small kids, they asked us what we needed for breakfast and bought everything for us. The apartment has been entirely renovated and it's really nice. Be aware that there is only one bathroom. Not a big deal for us but it might be inconvenient for others. Nice location, convenient for restaurants, shops, subway, and playgrounds. Overall, the whole family had a really good time in this house.
