We are an academic couple with a five-year-old daughter. During the academic year we are based in the UK. For the first six months of 2026, one of us will be on sabbatical and will use the flat occasionally, which is reflected in the indicated availability. We are therefore ideally looking for tenants who would ideally be willing to rent the flat for the full duration of the listed period, but we accept shorter stays. The flat is well suited to a single person, a couple, or a small family. The flat is 56 sqm and is in a great condition. It comprises a spacious open-plan kitchen and living area with a pull-out sofa, one double bedroom, a room with a pull-out sofa (which can also be converted into a nursery—we have baby furniture available), a walk-in closet, a bathroom with a bathtub, and a balcony facing the garden. The flat is located on the first floor of a post-1953 building, completely renovated in 1999. It is fully soundproof. The building also has a large shared garden—complete with squirrels—where there are bike racks. We have two bikes in the cellar that you are welcome to use. Both bedrooms face the garden, making the flat quiet and peaceful. The flat is located in Friedrichshain, in the heart of East Berlin. Ostbahnhof railway station is a five-minute walk away, and Alexanderplatz can be reached in just five minutes by train. There are multiple bars, cafes and restaurants within a 15 minute walk.
