Apartment in maison de ville, near lake & Old town, Annecy French Alps

We stayed in the first floor 2 bedroom apartment in the restored, centrally located home for more than 3 months, including over Xmas 2020. It had been a challenging year and it is difficult to think of a better place to be. The apartment is large, spacious and light filled. A little snowfall on Xmas day encouraged us to start the wood fire. Sandra and her husband are wonderful hosts. The first Saturday morning Alex introduced us to the best stalls in the local street market, which is within a 5 minute walk. A wide range of food is available, the quality is excellent and well priced. This is a market for locals, and they know what they want. The surrounding bakeries are some of the best we have experienced in France. We attended Alliance Française classes in order learn and improve our French. It is in an historic building and less than a 10 minute walk away from the house. Good bikes with locks are provided with the apartment, so you cycle anywhere you want, if you choose. Annecy and surrounds are bicycle friendly, with dedicated bike paths everywhere. Sandra gave us comprehensive advice freely so that we could quickly enjoy the best in the local area. The old town Sunday market is reputed to be one of the best in France and is definitely worth visiting. The old town has much charm, being the ‘Venice’ of France and set on the lake amidst the alps. It is about a 15 minute walk from the apartment. We had work we needed to do using our computers and found the internet to be very fast and reliable. It was perfect for video meetings like Zoom and all our download needs. The apartment has excellent facilities and particularly for long stay people who want to cook and use the fresh produce from the markets. The neighbourhood is in a very safe residential area and the apartment has open views over a park and to the mountains, in two directions. An excellent laundry, with dryer is located downstairs. If any issue arose Sandra was very quick to respond, give advice or fix anything. My Sweet Home is a very welcoming stay but a hard one to leave.

We love everything about this home. Great location, close to all the hustle and bustle but not right in it so you can enjoy the quieter life but not miss out on all the fun of lake and old town. The house has a nice fenced yard so kids can play outside all day long and you don’t have to worry about them. There are two apartments with kids’ bedrooms, so if you’re a family with kids, good chances you’ll have other kids in the house to play with. We’ve been here for 3 months so far and already met so many new friends. The apartment is spacious, very well laid out and decorated. It has everything you need for a short or a long stay. Not to mention all the storage space in the apartment and the cellar. For those who have lots of sports equipment, there is so.. much.. space! Getting around is easy from here. There are bikes to borrow. Pretty much any bike size you’d need. We found having these is so handy because not only its easy to get to old town, but also further destinations are easier to get to then if you had to walk. Walking takes longer to get to places but bikes open up a whole set of new areas to you. Our host is so welcoming and friendly - with tons of recommendations and ideas to make you feel right at home. Don’t think we’re gonna be able to leave!

Visiting Annecy should be on everyones buckets list, and 'My Sweet Home' is the perfect accommodation! Location is amazing, close to the lake, transport, shops and a wonderful weekly market. We are a large family and the accommodation is spacious, extremely well thought, out and tastefully decorated. We have everything we need to enjoy our 5 month stay in this apartment. An amazing experience ! We visited for the first time the french Alps and had a wonderful stay in Annecy due to both, a great property and an incredible host family. We spend 3 weeks this summer at the Alpine Loft and it is exactly as you can see in the pictures : cozy, clean, modern, stylish and practical in a great residential location close to the lake, the old town and a Saturday street market. We enjoyed a lot biking everywhere with the bikes provided with the apartment and got to know great neighbors. Sandra and her family are the best host ever, extremely friendly and helpful. They speak several languages and are always taking care of their guests’ needs with excellent recommendations and support. We liked it so much, we are already looking forward to go back. My husband and I spent a year traveling Europe and Latin America. We spent many nights in many different types of accommodations throughout our journey and Sandra's flat was one of our highlights. We stayed on the top floor, which normally might mean low ceilings and little natural light, but the place was the opposite. Big windows, lots of light and comfy places to curl up with a book or do some yoga. The entire flat looks brand new, with modern appliances and amenities. My husband especially loved the complimentary bikes Sandra offered. He would get up early and go on a new adventure most mornings, thanks in large part to Sandra's recommendations. It's a great place to stay if you are in the area and Sandra and her husband are friendly, responsive hosts, ready with recommendations and suggestions to make your stay memorable.

This is a spacious, clean and tastefully decorated pied a terre from which to discover a lovely town and beautiful region. The apartment is bright and comfortable with a view of Mont Veyrier (which we hiked to the top walking by foot from our front door!) in the changing light of the day. It is well equipped and serves the needs of an academic family. The host Sandra was also very helpful in getting us settled. We recommend it highly!

We stayed at this wonderful villa for 3 months in 2016, and came back again for 3 months in 2017. It is a great place to work while on sabbatical - fast internet, pristine and newly renovated, safe location, comfortable beds, and walking distance to everything (grocery, lake, old town, train station). The owner also provided bicycles with the rental so we were able to bike around town. The owner is a lovely person, was very easy to deal with and speaks multiple languages including English. We enrolled our kids at the local French school just 5 minutes down the street. We absolutely loved our stay here, and we'll definitely be back on a future sabbatical.
