Canyon Cottage is a 1960s bungalow located in lower Oak Creek Canyon, one mile south of Slide Rock State Park on highway 89A and 5 miles north of downtown Sedona. Because it is located in a lightly forested section of Oak Creek Canyon at 5000 feet in elevation, the cottage is a wonderfully warm and sunny spot to spend the winter, or a shady, cool spot to beat the heat in the summer. The cottage is furnished with a queen bed and a full bed. There is a small, but fully-equipped kitchen, a cozy dining area, and a back deck where you can sit and watch the humming birds; other amenities include laundry and a BBQ grill. The garden is filled with fragrant flowers in the spring and summer and offers a variety of fruit bearing trees in the fall. This is a wonderful place to use as a base to explore all that Northern Arizona has to offer: it is 40 minutes to Flagstaff, 20 minutes to downtown Sedona, 1 hour to Jerome, and 2 hours to the Grand Canyon, to mention just a few fantastic destinations in easy driving distance.
