Lovely, quiet one bedroom on the Upper East Side

I stayed in Hua's and Dirk's apartment while on leave from the University of Illinois for one semester visiting Hunter College. The location was great: within about a 20 minute walk to Hunter, or I could take the 72nd Street bus most of the way (if I was feeling lazy). Close to the 2nd Avenue subway line. Food shopping is convenient as well: there is a Morton Williams supermarket at the corner of 1-st Avenue and 72nd Street, as well as "A Matter of Health" food store there for the more heath conscious. The apartment itself is well maintained and neatly furnished. A strong WiFi single and fast internet connection. The building has several laundry machines and dryers in the basement. There is a live-in super on the premises who was very helpful. The building does not have a doorman, but there is a porter who collects garbage every week-day (you just have to leave it outside the apartment door in the morning). This is a walk-up building, with no elevator, so you do need to walk up a few flights of stairs. Communication with the landlords was always fast and easy, and they were always very helpful. All in all, I had a great time staying in this apartment!

Enjoyed 2 fantastic months in Hua's Manhattan apartment in 2010. Great location for museums, galleries, Central Park. Quiet cul de sac with glimpses of the East River. Hua and her husband were very easy to communicate with and all arrangements went smoothly despite us missing our flight to NYC so not actually meeting them! Certainly recommend this well-priced apartment for a couple and occasional guest on mattress in living room.
