Looking for a home swap Reykjavik/Augsburg - Aug26 - June27

We are fully aware that what we are exchanging is not just a flat, but a home. We are a friendly and tidy couple with a simple yet stylish taste. We love music and play the flute and guitar, as well as singing. We value a healthy and sustainable diet. We are members of a community-supported agriculture scheme (the harvest share can be part of the exchange) and follow a vegan diet. We use eco-friendly cleaning and laundry products and appreciate it when items, furniture and food are treated with care. Our décor is a mix of antique or inherited furniture, second-hand finds and modern elements. I am a PhD student at the University of Iceland. My partner and I, based in Augsburg, near Munich Bavaria/Germany, are looking for a home swap in Reykjavik from middle/end of August/beginning of September 2026 until end May/beginning of June 2027. We are looking for 1 or 2 bedroom apartment or house close to the university or on a bus route. You’ll be staying in an 80m2 flat in a period building (built around 1910) with a balcony, located in a garden city neighbourhood, centrally situated near the station and by the river. The historic old town is a 15-minute walk away. The flat features a large kitchen-diner, a living room, a bedroom, a study, and a separate bathroom and toilet. We love our flat, which is situated in a garden district and was very carefully planned and built. It enjoys both morning and evening light and, although we live next to the station, you can see the treetops and wake up to the sound of birdsong in the morning. We appreciate the neighbours in the building and, in summer, our ‘balcony neighbours’. The garden is available for shared use. In summer, there are mirabelle plums to pick.
