I love my apartment in NYC and looking for someone who will take care of it while I'm away on sabbatical. --The apartment-- Reasons I love it: - Despite being in the center of everything, the apartment is quiet: the surrounding buildings block most street noise, and the building is sturdy so I rarely hear neighbors. You may hear occasional sirens that make it through and occasional soft footsteps from the above apartment. - The bedroom has south facing windows that get sun, particularly midday. During the summer, the tree outside offers shade that moderates the temperature. The other rooms have 5 windows that get indirect light. - Office: the bedroom has a nook with a height-adjustable standing desk that I built custom for the space, with an Aeron chair. - Dining area has 4 chairs plus a custom-built banquette. When I host dinners I add folding tables to expand seating to 8. - Full kitchen with stainless steel appliances - Queen sized bed with access on both sides - High ceilings - Storage space in the apartment: there is (1) a closet, (2) custom-built storage near the entryway and in the dining area, and (3) the bed is a storage bed from Design within Reach. - Heat and water included in rent; electricity/gas/internet add a bit more cost - The apartment has a quiet and efficient Midea air conditioner in the living room which cools the whole apartment It is on the fourth floor and there is no elevator. That means you will get some exercise but it may not be a good fit if mobility is a concern. --The location-- Nearby things that I love: CitiBike dock (2 minute walk), bagels/pizza/Whole Foods (3 minute walk), gym (4 minute walk), Penn Station and Madison Square Garden (10 minute walk), Madison Square Park / High Line / Chelsea galleries (12 minute walk), West Village (15 minute walk), Union Square farmer's market (20 minute walk), Hudson River park (20 minute walk). Next to FIT and easy subway connections to Columbia University, NYU, and all other New York schools. From Penn Station you can quickly reach all the airports, as well as Amtrak trains to DC/New Haven/Boston/etc. --You-- Looking for a responsible tenant who can enjoy the place as much as I do!
