After a 36-year career dedicated to education, I am looking to immerse myself in Italian culture for approximately three months. My goal is simple: to improve my Italian language skills and contribute to the local community. As a lifelong educator, I would be delighted to offer informal volunteer English conversation practice or volunteer tutoring for my hosts or their neighbors. I am a non-smoker, meticulous with my surroundings, and highly respectful of the "soul" of a home. The Exchange: I am offering my spacious 3-bedroom, 2-bath condo in the heart of Irvine, a short bike ride from the University of California - Irvine. This is a quiet, upscale professional community known for its safety and convenience. My Home Highlights: Amenities: Olympic size pool with hot tub, saunas, cabanas, BBQs, fitness center, and inside basketball court. My condo is on the top (4th) floor with elevator, fully furnished - just bring your toothbrush! All 3 bedrooms have comfortable queen beds with an additional futon in the loft office. The kitchen has all appliances (gas cooktop & oven, refrigerator with bottom freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, stand mixer, and a Ninja Combi Air Fryer), with washer & dryer in the hallway. The dining room seats 6 comfortably; the living room has a couch, love seat, recliner, and large, flat screen TV with SuperBox Streaming. The highspeed Wifi provides 5G Internet and a dedicated office space in the loft is perfect for a visiting scholar or remote professional. The Master bathroom has a walk-in shower while the hall bathroom has a tub/shower combo. The building has a modern security system (fob) with night security personnel on site, and the garage is gated with an assigned parking space for your vehicle. Location: The condo is a short 15 minutes from the iconic Newport and Laguna Beaches and a 10 minute bike ride from UCI (University of California, Irvine). The UCI bus stop is a short block away from the condo, or you could walk on the Nature Preserve (Wildlife) trails to the campus. Los Angeles and San Diego are less than an hour by car while Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, and California Adventure theme parks are only about 20 minutes to their parking lots. My Ideal Match: I am looking for a clean, well-situated apartment in Rome or a nearby town with easy transit access to the city center. I am specifically looking for a longer-term stay (e.g., 3 months) to truly integrate into the neighborhood.
