*** The Apartment *** One bedroom apartment, 42 square meters (453 sq ft), on the first and last floor (US second floor) of a small building with private entrance and private stairs. Lots of light and crossing (living-room on the street and bedroom on the courtyard). Living room (15 sq mt) with desk station, lots of jazz vinyles you're welcome to listen to, a table to have your meals and a piano. The kitchen is a bit vintage and not very functional but it does the job. There is no dishwasher but a washing machine with dryer. The bedroom has a comfortable queen size bed with an ensuite bathroom. I will make space for your clothes in the closet and the drawers. Please note that there is no tv. *** The Neighborhood *** The apartment is two minutes away from the Bassin de la Villette, the biggest artificial stretch of water in Paris linking the canal de l’Ourcq to the canal Saint-Martin. Numerous cultural activities, movie theaters, cafes and restaurants make this canal basin a festive place, very popular with Parisians. Bakeries, groceries, pharmacy, supermarkets, organic stores, post office... are two minutes away. And if you don't feel like cooking, there are a lot of good places to take away burgers, pizzas, chinese food, etc. The closest metro station ("Riquet" on line 7) is on the same block than the building , just a one minute walk from the apartment. The line 7 takes you in 20 minutes to "Hôtel de Ville" and "Châtelet", the very center of Paris. "Jaurès" station (line 2 and 5) is a 8/10 minutes walking distance. There is a Velib station (sharing bike system) down the street.
