I am a researcher at Leiden University. We sometimes rent out (for a few days or a few weeks) our spacious modernist apartment near central Amsterdam. We host all kinds of visitors: businesspeople, families on vacation, digital nomads, and academic researchers. This apartment is ideal for both work and rest: it has 3 bedrooms, 5 beds in total, a full kitchen, living and dining room, and office study. Prices and dates are negotiable, and we can provide references of previous guests. Our comfortable flat, emblematic of Dutch modernism, was built in the late 1960s by the architect Frans van Gool. It has a private ground-floor entrance and is embedded in a modern housing complex that is safe and tranquil. It is close to Nooderpark and across the street from playgrounds. A 5-minute walk takes you to Boven’t Y shopping centre with supermarkets, parking garages, and bicycle rental shops, and the Pathé multiplex cinema. Our apartment provides easy access by Metro, bicycle, or car to the rest of Amsterdam. It is a 15-minute walk to Amsterdam Noord Metro station, and from there 2 stops to Amsterdam Centraal train station and the city centre. A short bike ride takes you to the ferry terminal with free 24-hour service to Amsterdam’s centre. Within close distance are the cultural venues Tolhuistuin and the Eye Filmmuseum, and the NSDM hotspot, a former industrial shipyard now hosting art spaces, music venues, and bars. * You have access to our entire apartment. The private ground floor entrance hall is where we ask our guests to leave their shoes, and where our storage unit is located. The entire apartment and living space is on the first floor, up a short set of interior stairs. Our home looks out upon large green lawns, with the living room facing east and the dining room west, ensuring light all day. Our main bedroom (Bedroom 1) has a comfortable king-sized bed (200 x 210 cm) for two people. A second bedroom (Bedroom 2) has a robust bunk-bed system containing 3 adult-sized beds with natural latex mattresses. This room contains one double bed (140 x 200 cm) sleeping up to two people, and two separate single beds (90 x 200 cm). An office study and guestroom (Bedroom 3) has a sofa that converts into a single bed (80 x 200 cm). All rooms have blackout curtains and there is minimal noise at night. You can make use of our high-speed wi-fi, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, and beamer for projecting films and television. There is an office study with a desk and printer for working, and a large library of books for adults and children. Amsterdam municipality holiday rental registration number: 0363 92FE 8B15 FEA2 188D
