Seeking Exchanges for any part or all of 2026-27 academic year. Short or long stay. Our home is designed for casual, cozy comfort with an open floor plan and a little mid-century modern feel. Loads of books, study spaces, and artwork. Tech is up to date, with Apple TV box for video streaming and Sonos speakers for audio. We’re on the second and third floors of our two-family home. We rent our downstairs to wonderful visiting professors through Sabbatical.com. This year, our visitors are from Taiwan and teaching at Harvard and Brown. We've had many folks who spent a year at MIT as well. We’re an easy-going semi-retired couple, mid-60s, a video editor/producer and child psychologist, and we’ve carefully and modestly rehabbed our place for the past 15 years. Front stairs up lead into living room, that opens in a T-shape to open dining room and kitchen. Behind a sliding door and wall are the back bedroom (queen bed), bath, and front bedroom (queen bed), that also has a long desk and study area. Windows line the apartment so it's very light. On the way up to the attic third floor is a small front room that is an excellent study. It has served as the work-central spot for a decade. Up the stairs to the attic is a front bedroom (full-size bed) facing south, with a third l-shaped study area, with maximum quiet. To the rear is a long renovated room (with knee walls) and another queen bed with dresser arrangement. So 3 Queen Beds and 1 full-size bed in all. Any of these can be swapped out for a child's bed as well. In the full basement, there's storage area and up-to-date utilities. It’s an old house and has a few quirks (back stairs a little narrow; attic stairs low ceiling), but everything works, electric is up to date, and it's insulated with modern windows. Window ACs for bedrooms and study. We love the back patio and garden; popular nearby Fresh Pond Reservoir for walking, running, and golf; the tennis courts around the corner; all that Cambridge and Boston have to offer; and the easy access to both airport and highways. Families flock to Belmont for the excellent schools, pleasant living, and close access. We’re also eager to see more of the world. We’re hoping especially to go England for an extended visit, but are truly open to most any destination… (favorites include Italy, France, Greece, Australia, Japan and Cape Town, SA) We have a second home, so can be open to non-simultaneous exchange. We are experienced, low-maintenance, and respectful guests, who will take excellent care of your home. Please get in touch, let’s try to work something out! More photos on request.
