We're a 60-something couple who are thinking about next steps/relocation now that our children are grown. Our house is light and airy, woodsy and quiet, with a waterfall, screened porch, deck and hot tub in the back yard. Lots of nature and privacy, great for entertaining, and walking distance to town. The house has 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, full kitchen, dining room, offices, comfy TV room, formal living room with fireplace and piano, finished basement with a X-large screen movie/video screening room, quiet basement bedroom, full bath and private entrance, laundry room, screened porch, waterfall and hot tub. On street and driveway parking. With children grown, we've converted two bedrooms for other use-- one is a peaceful yoga room; the other is a large office (there's another, smaller office on the ground floor). We can change those back to bedrooms, if desired. Our neighborhood is safe and friendly; schools are among the best in the country; and we're a 10-minute walk from a large town with a small town feel (Bethesda, MD) and the Washington, DC metro. We're one metro stop from the nicest part of DC, and 8 miles from the White House. Bethesda is a mecca for restaurants from around the world, independent shops, movie theatres, wine bars, health clubs, .... Our fenced and private back yard is a sanctuary. The pink and red azaleas bloom every spring; the maple leaves get showy in the fall. We sit on the deck or by the waterfall and listen to water, birds and nature. Optional: You may want access to our year-round 3 bedroom, 2 bath (plus outdoor shower) lake-front cabin in Harpers Ferry, WV (90 minutes away). Hiking, freshwater swimming, paddle board, kayaking, fishing, fire pit, ...fun.
